Dialmio defines the 28 call management, dialer and telephony terms Indian businesses meet when buying software, each in one plain breath.

Calls and what happened on them
- Call management
- Organising the calls a business makes and receives so that each one is logged, attributed to a customer, given an outcome and followed up. Full meaning
- Call log
- The record of calls made and received on a phone, holding the number, direction, time and duration, and nothing about what was discussed. Full meaning
- Call disposition
- The outcome a caller selects when a call ends, chosen from a short fixed list, which turns a conversation into a data point a report can count. Full meaning
- Call outcome
- What a call produced, recorded as a stage plus a written note, so a colleague can pick up the conversation months later without asking the customer again. Full meaning
- Missed call
- An incoming call nobody answered. For most small businesses it is the cheapest lead they lose, because the customer had already decided to make contact. Full meaning
- Callback
- A call a business owes somebody: either returning a missed call, or ringing at a time the customer asked for. Both need an owner and a time to survive. Full meaning
- Call recording
- Capturing the audio of a business call. Android restricts it for third-party apps, so whether a handset records depends on its maker and version. Full meaning
- Caller ID
- Showing who is calling before the phone is answered. Business versions draw the name from your own customer records rather than a shared public directory. Full meaning
Measuring a calling team
- Talk time
- The total minutes a caller spent in connected conversation. The hardest calling number to inflate, and usually the most closely tied to results. Full meaning
- Connect rate
- The share of dialled calls that a person actually answers. In India it is influenced more by the number you call from than by the time of day. Full meaning
- Speed to lead
- The gap between an enquiry arriving and somebody first ringing it. Usually the single strongest predictor of whether that enquiry converts. Full meaning
- Call analytics
- Reporting built from calls rather than from what people say they did: attempts, connections, talk minutes, outcomes and how quickly leads were rung. Full meaning
- Daily call report
- A per-person summary of a calling day: calls, talk minutes, outcomes and open follow-ups. Worth reading only when nobody had to write it. Full meaning
Ways of dialling
- Auto dialer
- Software that works a list one number at a time and pauses after each conversation, leaving room to file the result before the next number rings. Full meaning
- Power dialer
- A dialer that starts the next call as soon as an agent is free, at a fixed ratio of one line per agent. Often used interchangeably with auto dialer. Full meaning
- Predictive dialer
- A dialer that opens several lines per agent and predicts who will answer. Efficient on large floors, and the reason some answered calls meet silence. Full meaning
- Dial gap
- The breathing space a dialer leaves between one conversation ending and the next beginning, sized so the result gets filed before anybody else answers. Full meaning
- Call queue
- A list of calls waiting to be made or answered. In outbound work it is a calling list; in inbound work it is customers on hold waiting for an agent. Full meaning
- Abandoned call
- A call the recipient answers that reaches nobody, produced when a dialer runs more lines than it has staff. Commonly known as a silent call. Full meaning
Lines, numbers and routing
- SIM based calling
- Making business calls on the SIM inside a normal handset, so the recipient sees a familiar mobile number and your existing tariff covers the cost. Full meaning
- Cloud telephony
- Telephone service supplied over an internet connection instead of a SIM card, typically bundling hired numbers, routing, menus and metered minutes. Full meaning
- Virtual number
- A number leased from a supplier rather than living on a SIM, able to send callers to whoever is available, usually charged monthly with minutes on top. Full meaning
- IVR
- The recorded menu greeting a caller and asking for a keypress before passing them on. Valuable on incoming lines, near pointless on outgoing ones. Full meaning
Leads, follow-ups and rules
- Lead status
- How far along your own selling process a customer has travelled, picked from a brief list you wrote yourself and moved during the call, not later. Full meaning
- Follow-up
- A scheduled next contact with a customer, carrying a date and an owner. Without both, it is an intention rather than a commitment. Full meaning
- Reminder alarm
- A follow-up that seizes the whole screen and rings when its moment arrives, rather than queuing as one more banner somebody can flick away unread. Full meaning
- DND and NDNC
- The Indian do-not-disturb registry, where subscribers record that they do not want unsolicited commercial calls and messages from registered senders. Full meaning
- TRAI
- India telecom regulator, whose rules bind operators and, through them, any business placing commercial calls or sending commercial messages. Full meaning

From teams using Dialmio
What do people who use these words daily say?
A missed call at 7 pm is a callback at 10 am with the customer name on it. Before, it was a number nobody recognised and nobody rang.
The chat sitting next to the call history is the screen I live on. No more wondering if somebody already replied to him.
We set the gap between calls to thirty-five seconds so the note gets typed before the next customer answers. Our data went from rubbish to reliable with one setting.
These are the words of customers who agreed to be quoted this way, sent over WhatsApp or said on a call, shortened only where they ran long. No star total or review count is published, because there is no public rating page to point at yet. Last checked September 2026.
Questions
What is Dialmio, in short?
Is Dialmio a call tracker or a CRM?
Both, inside one record. A bare call tracker tells an owner how many calls were made. A CRM tells the team what was discussed and what comes next. Dialmio logs the call and pins the outcome, the note, the follow-up and the WhatsApp to the same lead, so tracking and selling share one screen instead of two tools.
What happens when a number that is not a lead calls?
The call is logged like any other, and the caller can convert it into a lead from the after-call sheet with one tap, source marked Incoming. A number that rings twice becomes one record with two calls on it, never two records.
Should I set Dialmio as the default phone app?
Yes, if you want incoming calls to open the customer thread and every business call to end with the after-call sheet, rather than only calls begun from a list. It is a single tap during setup, and ordinary dialing, contacts and dual-SIM behaviour stay exactly as before.
Does Dialmio work without internet?
Calling and the after-call sheet both work with data off, since these are ordinary SIM calls. A connection is needed to sync records to the account for the dashboard and to send WhatsApp; anything captured offline waits on the phone until the signal returns.
Is Dialmio cheaper than other call management software in India?
Usually, once WhatsApp and reporting are added up. Published Indian prices for this kind of tool sit anywhere from about 100 to 800 rupees per user per month, and a few charge WhatsApp separately or reserve reports for a dearer plan. The fair comparison is the yearly figure for your actual caller count, with everything you plan to use included.
Does auto dialing cost extra on the SIM?
No. The dialer places ordinary mobile calls on the plan the phone is already on, so the calling cost is the same as dialing by hand.
What does a call management CRM actually do?
A call management CRM connects the phone to the customer record. The record opens as a call starts, with the previous note visible; a sheet collects the result and the next step as the call ends; unanswered calls line up for a callback; and the owner gets call counts, talk minutes and outcomes per person with no report to chase. Dialmio does all four from a single Android app.
Does Dialmio need a virtual number or cloud telephony?
No. Each call goes over the SIM in the handset, so the customer sees the same mobile number they have always known, and the call is charged on the mobile plan that phone is already on. There is nothing to rent, no IVR to configure and no telephony bill at the end of the month.
What is Dialmio?
Dialmio is a call management CRM: an Android app that turns each call a salesperson makes, picks up or misses into a lead record carrying an outcome, a note and a follow-up date, paired with a web dashboard where the owner watches the whole team as the day runs. Calls travel over the SIM inside each phone.
Which phones does Dialmio run on?
Android handsets on version 8 or later, which is almost any phone sold in recent years. Callers need nothing more than that. Owners and managers open the dashboard in a browser on a laptop, a tablet or a phone, iPhone included.
