DND and NDNC: what it means in call management, explained by Dialmio

Dialmio defines DND and NDNC this way: The Indian do-not-disturb registry, where subscribers record that they do not want unsolicited commercial calls and messages from registered senders.

Updated 9 June 2026 · Definitions checked September 2026

India operates a national preference registry through which mobile subscribers can opt out of unsolicited commercial communication, either wholly or by category. It has been known by more than one name over the years, which is why do not disturb and national do not call are both used to describe the same idea.

The obligations fall on the sender, and how they apply depends on how you are sending and what relationship you have with the person. Communication a customer has asked for, and communication in the course of a transaction they initiated, is treated differently from unsolicited marketing to strangers. That distinction matters more than the technology used to place the call.

The practical position for a small business calling its own enquiries is straightforward: those people contacted you, so the relationship exists. The risk arrives with bought lists and bulk outreach to people who never asked, which is both where the rules bite and where a business damages its own number reputation fastest. Treat this note as orientation and take proper advice for your own situation.

How do customers describe DND and NDNC?

I resisted CRMs for years because every one of them wanted my staff at a laptop. This one wants two taps on the phone the call just happened on, which is a different ask entirely.

Another vendor quoted me five times this per user and still wanted extra for WhatsApp. I kept waiting for the catch, and the catch turned out to be that nothing sits behind a higher plan.
Prashant U.Proprietor, PuneAug 2026
I lined up four tools in a spreadsheet. Only one of them invoiced the same number its website showed, and it was this one.

These are the words of customers who agreed to be quoted this way, sent over WhatsApp or said on a call, shortened only where they ran long. No star total or review count is published, because there is no public rating page to point at yet. Last checked September 2026.

What do people ask about DND and NDNC?

Can I call somebody who enquired with me if they are on the registry?

A person who contacted your business has created a relationship, which is treated differently from unsolicited marketing. The rules are detailed and change, so confirm your own position rather than relying on a glossary entry.

Does this apply to WhatsApp messages?

WhatsApp is governed primarily by its own business policies and by consent, rather than by the telecom preference registry. Both routes share the same underlying principle: message people who have a reason to hear from you.

What does a call management CRM actually do?

A call management CRM connects the phone to the customer record. The record opens as a call starts, with the previous note visible; a sheet collects the result and the next step as the call ends; unanswered calls line up for a callback; and the owner gets call counts, talk minutes and outcomes per person with no report to chase. Dialmio does all four from a single Android app.

What is Dialmio?

Dialmio is a call management CRM: an Android app that turns each call a salesperson makes, picks up or misses into a lead record carrying an outcome, a note and a follow-up date, paired with a web dashboard where the owner watches the whole team as the day runs. Calls travel over the SIM inside each phone.

Is Dialmio a call tracker or a CRM?

Both, inside one record. A bare call tracker tells an owner how many calls were made. A CRM tells the team what was discussed and what comes next. Dialmio logs the call and pins the outcome, the note, the follow-up and the WhatsApp to the same lead, so tracking and selling share one screen instead of two tools.

Should I set Dialmio as the default phone app?

Yes, if you want incoming calls to open the customer thread and every business call to end with the after-call sheet, rather than only calls begun from a list. It is a single tap during setup, and ordinary dialing, contacts and dual-SIM behaviour stay exactly as before.

Is Dialmio cheaper than other call management software in India?

Usually, once WhatsApp and reporting are added up. Published Indian prices for this kind of tool sit anywhere from about 100 to 800 rupees per user per month, and a few charge WhatsApp separately or reserve reports for a dearer plan. The fair comparison is the yearly figure for your actual caller count, with everything you plan to use included.

What happens when a number that is not a lead calls?

The call is logged like any other, and the caller can convert it into a lead from the after-call sheet with one tap, source marked Incoming. A number that rings twice becomes one record with two calls on it, never two records.

Does Dialmio need a virtual number or cloud telephony?

No. Each call goes over the SIM in the handset, so the customer sees the same mobile number they have always known, and the call is charged on the mobile plan that phone is already on. There is nothing to rent, no IVR to configure and no telephony bill at the end of the month.

Which phones does Dialmio run on?

Android handsets on version 8 or later, which is almost any phone sold in recent years. Callers need nothing more than that. Owners and managers open the dashboard in a browser on a laptop, a tablet or a phone, iPhone included.
